I joined Vancity as a young adult, knowing that the credit union philosophy meant that my money would be invested in my community.  As a community leader, Vancity is in a position to address concerns about homelessness, social isolation, and universally accessible housing.

Entrepreneurial by nature, I am a strong supporter of small business and non-profit organizations.  With my background in health care, I understand that good health depends on healthy communities.

As our population ages, we will need to strengthen our communities to provide meaningful supports for people to remain in their communities and close to families and friends.  At the same time, we have increasingly diverse communities and must find ways to provide opportunities for new immigrants and youth.

Concerns about the future of our planet have created a sense of urgency in creating solutions for living sustainably.  Vancity has demonstrated leadership in encouraging members and employees to be part of the solution, through programs that inspire action.

My priorities include:

• full financial services that are responsive to members’ needs
• developing programs and services for small businesses
• promoting accessible and healthy communities
• funding affordable housing projects
• creating healthy workplaces
• supporting environmental sustainability
